The SBIC and Mr Eric Wagner-Shallotte CROP Hunger Walk Chairperson would like to thank the walkers, those who donated and the many volunteers who helped make our SB/Shallotte CROP Hunger Walk a resounding success! Thank you to all who walked to end hunger one step at a time. The pictures below show what a fun day we had! Good Music, good fellowship, and a lot of laughter. A beautiful day for our Crop Hunger Walk/Praise in the Park event.
A Huge Thank You to our Sponsors! I wish to thank the entire South Brunswick community for “putting their feet” in the service of helping the most vulnerable among us. We had approximately 120 walkers. Because of your efforts and generosity, we raised approximately $11,473 as of today. Donations are still coming in. We estimate about $4,486 of that stays right here in the SBIC Food Pantry. The remainder will be distributed through Church World Service to those suffering immediate need around our country and the world.
Our CROP Hunger Walk engages a broad cross-section of the community in service to the neediest. It is an ecumenical community-oriented event that raises funds to help hungry people, raise awareness of hunger as an issue, engages and trains volunteers for community service and brings together persons of many ages and backgrounds in a common endeavor.
In Christianity, there is a special reward promised for those who respond to the words: “When I was hungry, you gave me to eat.” This reward is yours! You are much appreciated, touching the lives of many people in need with God’s mercy and compassion. Peace and joy until our paths cross again . . . With God’s Grace and gratitude, The SBIC Team
